\u00a0T.J. Holmes<\/a>\u00a0opened up about a recent incident when a woman accused him of stealing her phone while he was on a flight with his girlfriend, Amy Robach.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to People<\/a>, Holmes, 46, candidly discussed the incident on Monday\u2019s episode of the Amy & T.J.<\/em> podcast, revealing that they were on a flight to Los Angeles when the woman accused him of stealing the mobile device. The former GMA<\/em> host said she approached him as he exited the first-class bathroom and began questioning him about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe steps toward me and gestures \u2014 almost like she\u2019s about to frisk me \u2014 and says, \u2018Oh, you don\u2019t have it,\u2019\u201d Holmes recounted before continuing: \u201c[She] flat out accuses me of taking her phone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holmes was surprised by the woman\u2019s accusation and asked why she had suspected him of taking her phone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt this point, she\u2019s a short lady, so I actually scooch, I crouch down, I put my hands on my knees and get down to her level, and I say, \u2018Ma\u2019am, are you telling me I took your phone?\u2019\u201d he explained. \u201cAnd then she says, \u2018Oh, no, but it was there,\u2019 and then kind of ignores me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Page Six<\/a> reported that Holmes also shared with his listeners that the passenger was an elderly white woman who was seated four rows in front of him and had a flight attendant with her when she addressed him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the flight attendant was \u201coverly apologetic\u201d about the situation as the woman raved about her phone. Holmes recalled going back to his seat \u201cnext to row 5C,\u201d watching as the passenger continued searching for it. She later found her phone and began saying \u201cI\u2019m so sorry!\u201d repeatedly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSorry doesn\u2019t cut it at that point,\u201d Robach, 51, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holmes shared how he had to maintain his composure during the situation and was relieved there were other people around to vouch for him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have to be calm,\u201d he said. \u201cIf there weren\u2019t more people around then I wouldn\u2019t have bent down and been as assertive as I was because I wouldn\u2019t have a witness that I wasn\u2019t aggressive towards her.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Blavity<\/a> reported, Holmes and Robach began publicly dating after rumors started circulating about their romance in November 2022; ABC News President Kim Godwin decided to take the two off the air the following month. The pair were then terminated from their positions at the network in January 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
