What You Need To Know:
Please join my girlfriends and colleagues, media mogul Shelia Eldridge, caregiver coach Pat Bailey and me to Inform and Empower our community on an important topic, Alzheimer’s disease. We put together a new four-episode podcast for caregivers in search of their next best day, Finding New Tomorrows.
We all know that people of color, particularly black people, suffer disproportionately from several diseases that can affect our bodies and lives. Alzheimer’s disease is no different.
Studies show that 1 in every 2 families are affected by this awful disease, yet unlike heart disease, diabetes, AIDS, cancer and obesity, Alzheimer’s is rarely discussed. Family, friends and other loved ones suffer in silence as this vicious disease not only affects the victim but those who thankfully, step into the role of caregiver.
Our new podcast series is destined to help navigate through this journey of caregiving that many of us are facing, have faced or will face.
PRESS RELEASE:
The Mocha Podcasts Network will host a ‘special’ four- part series “Caregiving, Alzheimer’s and Aging: Finding New Tomorrows,” to bring awareness to the impact of the degenerative disease that disproportionately plagues the African American community. The series will explore and feature caregivers sharing their challenges that come with caring for a loved one with the disease and present resources and solutions for “finding their new tomorrow.”
