Thousands of high school students received the surprise of a lifetime yesterday when former First Lady Michelle Obama made a surprise appearance for College Signing Day in Washington D.C!
The DC College Access Program celebrated thousands of students from D.C., Maryland, and Virginia on their decision to pursue higher education. This event marks 10 years since the former First Lady launched her Reach Higher initiative in the White House to inspire students to seek higher education after high school.
This College Signing Day is even more special because it celebrates the graduating class of 2024. These students began their high school journeys at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. They overcame virtual learning, missing out on special events while at the same time trying their best to stay safe.
College can be described as some of the best times of your life, and we are so happy to see so many students taking this next step in their lives. Congratulations to the class of 2024, we know that you are well on your way to achieving great things.
