Juneteenth is approaching us and in honor of Texas being the first state to recognize it as a national holiday, I would like to introduce you to Texan and Founder of CLEAN DESIGN HOME™ , Robin Wilson who founded her luxury hypoallergenic textile collection in 2020. She is now recognized as the first Black female founder of a global, licensed hypoallergenic brand and it is currently sold at Macy’s and other retailers. Her story is the true full circle narrative, much of what Juneteenth represents. Today, Robin pays homage to her late grandfather, who picked cotton as a sharecropper in Texas, by her producing her luxury goods with 100% cotton. Now her cotton luxury, hypoallergenic collection is sold nationwide at major retailers. Robin currently lives in the tri-state but will plant roots back in Austin by designing and building a subdivision on 80+ acres of land owned by her family for generations. Robin is all too aware that generational wealth was not created by most Black families because they didn’t have access to bank loans to buy land or build businesses and it is her hope, she can change that paradigm. In 2006, she founded A Blue Egg Corporation a conglomerate focused on real estate, design and licensing in order to bring together her passions of home design and construction and create opportunities within her community. Her interior design work has included the White House Fellows office, President Clinton’s Harlem office, Laureate Park/Lake Nona developer work and numerous private residence projects across the United States.
Robin is also a survivor of domestic violence and has established Project Lilac, to help survivors of domestic violence.
