Music Icon Jermaine Dupri Ignites Denny’s Orange Blossom Classic Fan Fest with Special DJ Set Celebrating Hip Hop’s 50th Anniversary Before the FAMU vs. JSU Game

Music legend Jermaine Dupri recently set the stage on fire at the Denny’s Orange Blossom Classic (OBC) presented by Ready Life Fan Fest in Miami Gardens, Florida. The event, which took place on September 3, 2023, featured Jermaine Dupri curating a special DJ Set on the Pepsi Zero Sugar Sound Stage to celebrate Hip Hop’s 50th Anniversary. The Fan Fest, which took place at Hard Rock Stadium before the Florida A&M University Rattlers beat the Jackson State University Tigers 28 – 10. In addition to Jermaine Dupri, the Pepsi Zero Sugar Sound Stage also featured special guests like Sevyn Streeter, 702, Lamman Rucker, Rachael O’Neil, Reed Shannon, and more.

Pepsi returned as the official soft drink partner for the third consecutive year, providing a unique musical experience on the Sound Stage. The Big Homecoming and Wells Fargo also joined the lineup of partners for this year’s event.

Apart from the performances, the OBC Fan Fest featured scholarship giveaways, Wells Fargo Financial Empowerment sessions, live entertainment, and other surprises. The 2023 OBC edition, themed “The Reunion,” aimed to capture the spirit of HBCU lifestyle, uniting students, alumni, and HBCU supporters.

Leading up to the Fan Fest and the big game, a series of captivating events took place, including a golf tournament hosted by Hip Hop trailblazer Uncle Luke, the Commissioner’s Welcome Reception & Kick-Off Luncheon featuring an insightful keynote address by Emmy-winning Actress Lynn Whitfield, and honoring accomplished Actress and FAMU Alumnae Angela Robinson, along with a live performance by Grammy Nominee Stokley. The event also featured the Battle of the Bands and various other events that elevated OBC’s HBCU Reunion Experience.
