Black women supporting Black women is our favorite thing to watch!

Scottie Beam and Sylvia Obell are back together again thanks to Issa Rae. Rae’s Raedio, the “audio everywhere” company under HOORAE Media, has just announced its first-ever talk show, The Scottie and Sylvia Show, hosted by entertainment journalist, Obell, and media personality, Scott. It’s been a year since the two hosts had to say farewell to their Netflix podcast series, Okay Now Listen, but the dynamic duo is back and better than ever.

The new series won’t be far off from their original podcast series. Each and every week, Beam and Obell will discuss and touch on a range of important topics and trending news from their perspective as Black women. They’ll also be giving us hot takes from pop culture’s biggest moments, and even sit down with celebrity guests. As they said, “It’s giving new. New vibe. New show. And our new home, Raedio!”

If you remember, Scott and Obell revealed that Netflix no longer wanted to continue their Okay Now Listen podcast series. When breaking the news to fans via social media, the two made it clear they’d be back and it was not a goodbye. Earlier this year, Scott made a post on Instagram seemingly suggesting that things were looking up. She was all smiles with her bestie and co-host, Obell. “Guys. We did it,” Scott captioned the post, and in true social media fashion, it led many supporters and fans to believe the two were joining forces again. Fans and supporters were tapped in and had a pretty good idea of what was happening. One fan commented, “PLEASE tell me this is in relation to Okay, Now Listen .” It’s safe to say they were right!

The longtime industry media mavens share a chemistry, not just as best friends, but as Black millennial women, that is simply felt and heard on their show. The Scottie and Sylvia Show is set to premiere on July 6th with a two-episode premiere. Listeners can watch on YouTube and listen on all platforms.
