The Barbie Movie had its premiere on Sunday in Los Angeles and the stars of the Barbie film hit the pink carpet with killer looks. The cast and other celebs like Issa Rae, Nicki Minaj, H.E.R, Karrueche Tran, and more were all in attendance, showing off their Barbie-inspired looks. The highly anticipated film is set to arrive in theaters on July 21, and the excitement is real. Many are anticipating the star-studded film and favorable storyline as the film has already received a 100% rating from Rotten Tomatoes.
Here are some of our favorite looks from the night:
Coming in strong is the President Barbie played by actress, writer, and producer, Issa Rae. She graced the carpet with a hot pink sleeveless gown with a nice touch of a bow. The “Insecure” creator pulled her hair back in a ponytail and completed the look with a mini pink clutch.
Actress Karrueche Tran shined in her yellow two-piece ensemble, featuring a bra-like top and fitting skirt. Tran accessorized well wearing large bangles on both wrists and dangling earrings. She finished her look with a slicked-back hairdo and soft makeup.
Nicki Minaj at the Barbie film premiere. She spoke with Access Hollywood on the carpet and expressed how this was, “a dream come true. A full circle moment.” The female rapper and Ice Spice collaborated for the rendition of Aqua’s “Barbie World” on the movie’s soundtrack.
Minaj was styled in a silver two-piece high-slit skirt set paired with black heels and jewelry. To finish off her look, she rocked a bleach-blonde wig, in true Barbie fashion.
Singer and actress, H.E.R, graced the pink carpet in a bedazzled and jeweled-encrusted midi dress. She paired the outfit with pink pumps and a blue purse.
Alexandra Shipp, who plays Barbie who is a celebrated author, also hit the pink carpet. Shipp’s look took a different route as she decided to wear a unique soft pink gown lined with dangling crystals around the front. Her hair was styled in an updo and had minimal accessories.
Skai Jackson showed up in an asymmetric vest and mini skirt two-piece set with large black buttons down the middle. She styled her hair in a short ponytail with a black bow to finish. Jackson completed her look with a black purse and pumps.
